Amazon Turkey PPC Guide
Amazon Turkey runs on its own seller account, its own currency and a Turkish-language search box. Learn what has to change before you advertise on amazon.com.tr.

Marketplace Overview
Amazon Turkey (amazon.com.tr) is a Turkish-language marketplace priced in Turkish lira. Turkey is not an EU member state and Amazon treats the store accordingly: it sits outside the European unified account and outside Pan-European FBA, so registration, listings and stock are handled separately from the European stores. Selling with local fulfilment means holding stock inside the country rather than serving it from a European fulfilment centre. Amazon does place Turkey in its Europe region for API and reporting purposes, which is why connecting the account in a third-party tool asks you to authorise it under Europe even though the selling account itself stands alone. Confirm the current programme terms in Seller Central before you commit to a plan.
Amazon Turkey opened after the long-established marketplaces, so there are fewer years of accumulated search-term history to lean on, and the advertising formats available to your account may not match what a US or German account offers. Check the advertising console for what you actually have before you design a campaign structure around it. The practical consequence is about evidence rather than tactics: confidence in a keyword comes from clicks accumulated, not days elapsed on the calendar. Judge terms on clicks, keep bid steps small, and let search-term harvesting do more of the work than reactive bidding.
Two things shift the economics in ways that have nothing to do with campaign quality. Revenue lands in lira while an imported cost base does not, so break-even ACoS moves with the exchange rate even when price, conversion and fees are unchanged. And the retail calendar is anchored partly to the lunar year: Ramazan Bayramฤฑ and Kurban Bayramฤฑ fall earlier each Gregorian year, while fixed national dates such as Republic Day on 29 October do not move at all. A seasonality model built on calendar week numbers will drift against itself within a couple of years.
PPC Advertising Tips for Amazon Turkey
Harvest Turkish keywords, never translate them
Turkish is agglutinative: case, plural and possessive suffixes attach to the stem, and vowel harmony changes the suffix depending on the vowels already in the word. A translated English list produces grammatical Turkish that may not match what shoppers type into the search box. Run automatic and broad campaigns first, read the search-term report, and promote only the phrases shoppers actually used into exact match.
Cover the accented and the plain spelling
Turkish uses c-cedilla, g-breve, dotless i, o-umlaut, s-cedilla and u-umlaut, and keyboards and habits mean the plain ASCII form gets typed as well. Both spellings can arrive as real search terms, so keep both in your exact-match lists. The dotless and dotted i also break naive lower-casing, which quietly merges or splits rows when you deduplicate a keyword list in a spreadsheet.
Recompute break-even, do not import an ACoS target
Break-even ACoS is price minus landed cost minus fees, divided by price. When the price side is in lira and the cost side is not, that fraction moves with the exchange rate on its own. Re-enter landed costs for this marketplace and re-derive the target on a schedule, rather than carrying across the percentage you use in another marketplace.
Build the day schedule on the local clock
Turkey keeps one time zone across the whole country and has not changed its clocks since 2016, so an hour-of-day pattern measured here stays aligned all year. That also means a report lining Turkey up against European marketplaces on a shared UTC axis will slide by an hour twice a year when Europe changes clocks. Bucket by the marketplace's own local hour and the schedule stays honest.
Align seasonality to the holiday, not the week number
Ramazan Bayramฤฑ and Kurban Bayramฤฑ follow the lunar calendar and land earlier each Gregorian year, while fixed dates such as 29 October stay put. When you build a year-on-year comparison, shift the lunar holidays to match before you compare, otherwise last year's peak sits in the wrong week and every trend line drawn through it is wrong too.
Settle fulfilment and tax before you scale spend
Turkey is outside the EU single market, so goods arriving from Europe go through customs formalities, and selling into the market generally means local tax registration and Turkish invoicing. Take local advice before launch. Advertising a listing you cannot restock predictably only buys expensive clicks, and a stock-out mid-campaign costs you the ranking you paid to build.

Challenges
- -Listings, keywords, customer messages and returns handling all need native Turkish rather than translated English
- -A separate seller registration outside the European unified account, plus local tax registration and Turkish invoicing
- -Stock has to sit inside Turkey, so Pan-European FBA and European cross-border fulfilment do not cover this marketplace
- -Lira revenue against an imported cost base moves your break-even even when nothing about the campaign has changed
- -Fewer years of accumulated search-term history than the long-established marketplaces, and an advertising format set worth checking in the console before you plan around it
Opportunities
- +Domestic manufacturing in textiles, home goods and small appliances, which shortens the supply chain for locally sourced products
- +Building your own search-term evidence from scratch is the main job here, and disciplined harvesting is a repeatable process rather than a secret
- +One time zone with no clock changes, which makes an hour-of-day schedule simple to build and keep aligned
- +Genuine Turkish localisation is real work, so the sellers who do it properly are not easily copied
- +A local fulfilment programme lets you serve the market without carrying a European inventory footprint
